After a long break, we will be returning to regularly playing over the board chess starting on Thursday 30th September! We have planned a couple of things so far…
Give it a go:
Our first two events will be give it a go sessions. This is an opportunity for anyone to come to the chess club for the first time, no matter if you are an experienced player or a complete beginner. The only goal is to play some chess and make new friends!
The give it a go sessions will be taking place on Thursday 30th September & Saturday 2nd October from 8pm – 11pm in the Gromit Room in the SU.
To ensure we have enough space for everyone, please only attend at most one of the give it a go sessions.
Weekly Casual Chess:
We will continue meeting every Saturday from the 9th October from 8pm – 11pm in the Gromit Room SU Building to play casual chess and to have fun. Anyone is welcome to join!
Competitive Chess:
We have three teams that will compete in the local Bristol chess league. Matches are played against other teams in Bristol. The matches are rated and are in the classical time control format (1 hour 20 + 10-sec increment).
All our terms are of different strength catering for very strong players in the A team and beginners to over the board chess in the C team. Don’t be shy if you want to play!
These matches will be starting from the first week of October.
