About the Club
This is the official University of Bristol chess club (UoBCC) website!
We post news, match reports, and events both here and on our Facebook page. We hold weekly sessions at the SU Richmond Building (105 Queens Road, BS8 1LN), in the ‘Gromit Room’ on the fourth floor, every Saturday from 20:00 until 22:45.
It is a relaxed environment open to all students and skill levels.
If you love the game, want to meet new people, or unwind with a pint and some blitz after a long day of work, then come on down!
For those who want to compete for the University in the local league, check out our competition page.
Contact us
You can contact any of the committee members by e-mail, though the most direct way to get a response is probably through our Facebook page.
We also have a Lichess, Chess.com, and Discord group!
Membership
You can come to our sessions before you decide on buying membership.
The fee allows us to fund special events throughout the year, participate in the Bristol League, and renew chess equipment, among others.
It also helps us gauge interest in the club, and we can easily send out e-mails to everyone for planned activities!
You can purchase membership for 10£ here.
